Sarah Colwill is one of the most postive people you will meet. Not that her life has been without challenges. Her sense of humour, artistic flair, attention to detail and communication skills have seen her thrive wherever she has  travelled throughout the world. She is currently part of the ownership group of the Fernwood Inn , partner in photography business  ( Two red balloons ) as well as on the Board of the Royal Road University Foundation.

Event and IT Manager for the BC Games Society

Irene  Schell credits a great deal of her personal and professional success to the experience she has gained as a volunteer.    Her involvement has ranged from working on a committee, to facilitating workshops, to chairing the Board.  Irene is currently the Chair of ProMOTION Plus, the provincial organization for girls and women in sport and physical activity.   Over the last 19 years, Irene has worked  and/or volunteered at over 30 multi-sport Games including Northern BC Winter Games, BC Games, Western Canada Summer Games, Canada Games and Olympic Games.  Irene has recently been named the Chef de Mission for the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games which will be held in Kamloops.   Irene is one of two Sport BC Investigative Officer responsible for investigating complaints of harassment in the BC sport system and is in her ninth year as an In-school Mentor with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. < Read what students said>

 Engineering Student: Seeing  a Future of Caring

Jason Heinrich, a fourth  year engineering student has won many academic awards such as the Top Academic/Governor General's Award, UVic Excellence Scholarship and APEG Engineering Award.
His athletic and leadership has been recognized by the Coach's Choice award for high school Soccer, and MVP for the basketball team. His work with community volunteerism and leadership stands as highlights in his life. This fall he's chosen to volunteer with a project in Uganda. His personal challenges have included helping close relatives deal with substance issues and handicaps. Learn how he copes with demands at school and work.
