Society is set up so there's a place for us. It needs you. There's a room for you to find it. We're social beings. We need each other. Robert Moon has been active in many aspects of the arts throughout his life including supervising special effects for the movies, teaching art classes and creating his own art. One of his pieces is in the Museum of Modern Art in New York . In addition to his art he plays an active part in helping others in his community. His work with the Crisis Line is one of his life highlights. He has helpful tips for mastering any area of interest in one's life

  • 9:30  Constable Scott  Hilderley, RCMP  School Liaison

     Everyone has a story, and Constable Hilderley's  has some surprising twists. He's been in police work  for about 30 years. His beat has ranged fom Moscow, Russia to , B to Victoria, BC. His career highlights come from his work with youth, where he feels he can make  the greatest impact on someone's life... He has overcome challenges along the way, not the least of which was being picked on because of his small stature when he was in high school. His high performance  also includes Iron Man Triathalons  competitions which he enters to help raise money for good causes.

Guest #1 Meaghan Cursons

 

Meaghan Cursons is currently Manager of Comox Valley Tourism. Her list of community involvement is vast and includes being associate producer, marketing manager and stage crew coordinator for Vancouver Island MusicFest.. Her ability to work with others, coordinate and manage projects and think big, results in her being in constant demand from a wide range of organizations .She is considered one of the most inspirational speakers in the area. Her high energy and creative passions have also led to her role as singer in the Valley rock band, Big Red Truck. Dianne Hawkins is the Executive Director of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce. In the position since November 2004, she has brought to the Chamber and its business members a high level of energy, enthusiasm and leadership to her position along with a background in adult education and 20 years of business experience. She moved to Victoria after graduation and worked in both public and private sector for a number of years prior to her return in 1989. Dianne has played increasingly significant leadership and management roles as her career developed. Dianne has also operated her own business as a trainer and administrative consultant and has worked with a number of business related organizations in the Comox Valley . She understands the keys to helping change happen in organizations and communities. An asset to any employer, she has kept her eye to the future and has much to say about preparing for one's next steps. She combines years of working in personal training and development as well as an understanding of how to be successful in businesses and community organizations. Her favourite saying: "What lies before us and what lies behind us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us". He's been an educator and businessman, senior management of large organization as well as the mayor of a small town. His careers have seen him work from Baffin Island to Vancouver Island, from long haul trucking to personnel management.. ,.. During that time he has also helped others change their careers and lives. He has insights into life, education, career development.
