I learned that Bert Heeringa worked for Canadian Tire for most of his life. I learned that you have to stick to your goals or you will never achieve them. If you're going for something, never give up and you will achieve your goals.

Although he came from a poor family he really had a tight loving family.
A couple of things I got out of this is that I should always believe in myself. No matter how bad things seem, I will always have myself, as long as I want to. They don't have me. I have me, I can decide who I want to have me. If you want to grow as a person sometimes you need to leave your comfortable image and explore yourself. You have to turn the heat up. You have to look at other peoples intentions, not only your own.
I learned that if you have a plan in life it will help alot with how you get along in life. I also learned that even if you're down at the bottom of life like Bert, you can still rise up.
I would really love to figure out more about his downside, while understanding his up. I really like his honesty, and will.
