There are many brilliant people in our world,
most that we'll never meet or even hear about
The people that spoke today were only two of those

what students said about Admiral John Anderson ( ret)

I may not have met John personally, as we, as a class, talked to him, but I feel like I know him really well. He told us about how to get into the military(though I doubt I want to go into military <^__^>). His story is very interesting, even though I didn't get to ask my question. Though, my question would've been: "What do you interpret Canada's role in Afghanistan to be?" I think, by the way John's mind works, that he would've said something about peace and saving the many people who are dying every day.

John didn't ever expect he would be an Admiral. I think a lot of people can relate to this because they have no idea what they are going to end up doing for a carreer. The fact that his role model is his 5th grade teacher is really interusting because it wasn't a famous icon, just a person that he looked up to.

I thought it would be scary to go into the military but the way John explained it, it made it sound like some what fun at times, but then you always have to be careful in what your doing and what our task is because if you screw it up then you could anything around you and put peoples lives in danger.

Two ideas that stood out to me the most,
is that you should be proud of what you do because if you dont then you probabaly arent a very happy person and that dosent only affect you, but it also affects the people around you. another idea that stood out to me is that you should always try your best, because even if you fail you know that you tried your hardest and at the end of the day, everything matters.

John answered the questions very well. He explained that looking out for your peers will gain trust. Helping others is a good way to live. "Love your neighbours as you would love yourself". That to deal with stress when your incharge. Also to stay in contact with your family or friends when your away for such long times.
